We have an exciting new gymnastics program with brand new
equipment and experienced coaches. Stop by and see our classes in
action. We have an opening just for your child.
Girls Kindergym (Kindergartners)
At this age, the girls are ready to tackle the traditional
Olympic events. This class emphasizes fun and excitement while
introducing the kindergartners to the group of basic skills
taught in our girls developmental program. Keeping these young
ladies in their own class allows us to move at an effective pace
that will keep them enjoying and improving their gymnastics.
Girls Developmental (1st grade & up)
The developmental part of Southlake Gymnastics Academy's program
focuses on developing a child's fine and gross motor skills, as
well as self-confidence. We are emphasizing fun and excitement
while the class concentrates on developing a core group of basic
skills on all four Olympic events (vault, uneven bars, balance
beam, and floor exercise) as well as trampolines and loose foam
pits. The director of the Developmental program coordinates
week-to-week activities, the events, and the skills the classes
are working on so that they remain fun and progressive for every
child.
Girls Accelerated (1st grade & up)
This class is designed for the gymnast that masters what is
being taught in the developmental program. The expectation level
for these students is higher, and they will be exposed to more
challenging skills.
Girls Advanced (1st grade & up)
This class is designed for the gymnast that masters what is
being taught in the accelerated program. The expectation level
for these students is higher, and they will be exposed to more
challenging skills.
Boys Kindergym (Kindergartners)
At this age, the boys are ready to begin working on the
traditional Olympic events. This class emphasizes fun and
excitement while introducing the kindergarteners to the group of
basic skills taught in our boys developmental program.
Boys Developmental (1st Grade & up)
The developmental part of Southlake Gymnastics Academy's program
focuses on developing a child's fine and gross motor skill as
well as self-confidence. We are emphasizing fun and excitement
while the class concentrates on developing a core group of basic
skills on all six Olympic events: floor exercise, pommel horse,
still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar, as well as
trampolines and foam pits. The director of the Developmental
program coordinates the week-to-week activities, the events, and
the skills the classes are working on so that they remain fun
and progressive for every child.
Boys Accelerated Gymnastics (1st grade & up)
This class is designed for the gymnast that masters what is
being taught in the developmental program. The expectation level
for these students is higher, and they will be exposed to more
challenging skills.
Boys Advanced Gymnastics (1st grade & up)

Tumbling ProgramsIntroduction to Tumbling
This class is designed for boys & girls who want to
concentrate their efforts on the tumbling aspect of
gymnastics. This class is great for those who aren't
interested in the other Olympic gymnastics events. This
class emphasizes the fundamentals of tumbling: cartwheels
and round-offs, with an introduction to back handsprings.
Intermediate Tumbling
This class is designed for the tumbler who has mastered what
is being taught at the intro to tumbling level. At this
point, we are ready to put more emphasis on the standing
back handspring, eventually combining the round-off and the
back handspring. We are still focusing on the correct
technique of the cartwheel and round-off making the
round-off back handspring easier and safer.
Advanced Tumbling
This class is designed for the tumbler who has mastered what
is being taught at the intermediate tumbling level. At this
point, we are putting the round-off and the back handspring
together with little assistance and working diligently on
the standing back handspring. Because the keys to a good
round-off back handspring are correct technique and
self-confidence, the main focus in the accelerated class is
getting in the repetitions in order to accomplish both.
Mom & Me (18 - 36 months)
Parent and child explore movement together through playful and
exciting activities. This program is fun and interesting while being
a crucial instrument in the development of your child's gross and
sensory motor coordination and self-confidence. The director of the
Mom & Me program coordinates the week to week activities, the
events, and the skills the classes are working on so they remain fun
and progressive for both parent and child.
Pre-school (3 years old - Pre K)
At this age, children are ready to take the class by themselves.
Southlake Gymnastics Academy uses the sport of gymnastics as a tool
to challenge children to expand their developing capabilities. The
director of the pre-school program coordinates the week-to-week
activities, the events, and the skills the classes are working on so
that they remain fun and progressive for each and every child.
